Thursday In The Garden With Abby

:::::MEEEEEOOOOOWWWW:::::

Oh there is some nice sniffs on this breeze.
Well Momma is out in the garden again.
Look at two of the Camellias she just added to our garden.
Aren't they gorgeous?
Well, that's what Momma says.

I don't know what it is about these plants that
makes Momma go all weak in the knees.
But, they do.

Momma always get's those close ups!

This one is white with a pink center, it's just beautiful.

This year we are redoing another flower bed.
These 3 camellia bushes will anchor that bed.
It's not quite time to plant but it will be soon.

Well back to my sniffing kitties.

Until next week.
See you in the garden.
Keep on blooming!

Thursday In The Garden With Abby

:::::meoowwwwwww:::::

Well it's the final Thursday in January.
Our camellias are still blooming nicely.

Yes, I am keeping an eye on your Mom.
The weather has been very mild, so we can
all be out on our porch during the day.

As you can  see I am keeping a keen eye on Mom.

In addition to the camellias, the azaleas have
begun to bloom.

And,the winter catcus is doing well in the Greenhouse.
Mom just watered inside which is why
this cactus is all wet.

So come on in Mom and give me some treats now, OK?

Until next time, keep on gardening!

Thursday in the Garden with Ping

::::::meow::::::

Welcome to our Garden this week.
We wanted to share a few of the things still blooming.
First is one of Mom's recently purchased amaryllis.

Isn't it beautiful?

Mom could not resist this red gernamium.
The vendor was selling all of his plants at 75% off and she
got it for $2.50

Again another discount plant, this time it's a begonia.
Mom was looking at this local garden centers beautiful plants and
had fallen in love with a beautiful big basket of red begonias
and then she spotted this one on the "sale" rack.
She nabbed it $3, a very large savings over the one she was
wishing for.

And finally a close up of one of our climbing red roses.

OK Mom I see all of it but I don't get it.
Why are so interested in plants?

Well while I try to figure her out, please drop in on the true master
gardener Jonesie for more beauty in the garden.

See you next week!

Mom is sure taking some strange pictures.
I mean look tree roots?
What's up with that?
A single spider string on a web?
She's weird I tell you.

But I will still pose for her.

Thursdays In The Garden

:::::meow::::

Mom found a nice place online where to buy some amaryllis
bulbs.
When they arrived a few weeks ago she put them right into the
ground.
She really thought she was going to have to wait until next
spring before she would have blooms.

But as you can see she did not.

Aren't they gorgeous?

We welcome all of you to see how they are starting to bloom.

She is so excited to see the blooms.

But I am just excited to see a lizard.

Thursday In The Garden With Grace

:::meow:::

Welcome to my garden tour.
Last week my brother Ping told you that our 'rents
were doing "something".
That something was to remove some VERY mature
azalea bushes from the flower beds you see below.
They also removed all the old rotted out wood surrounding the beds.
There were 4 pallets delivered.
2 held mulch.
1 held wall retaining pavers and the last one was additional soil.
So in all they put down 85 pavers,  150 bags of mulch and 40 bags of soil.
They were very tired.

Silly Momma forget to take "before" pictures.
And she could not find any pictures she had on file of a "before" either.
It's not strange because those azaleas were not very attractive.

Momma also got Daddy to take down a big sticker bush and
replace it with additional lattice 'fencing'.
It keeps the privacy inside our little garden on the other side.
Next year our new flower bed will be filled with more amaryllis and lilies.
Momma and Daddy found a place online where they ordered lots of new bulbs.
It should be glorious.

Now for Momma's inside garden "UP CLOSE".

I hope you enjoyed my tour this week.
Please don't forget to check out the Master of the Zen Garden, Jonesie
for more beautiful garden.
Until next week!
