We apologize for these pictures not being visible (hopefully they are now) , we are having difficulties with picasa publishing directly to our blog. It was working beautifully before we lost our desktop, now I'll have to see if there is anyone else who has had the same problem and how to resolve it.....

Mondays With Ping

Momma forgot to post my picture this morning! What is up with her? She can't forget about Monday morning with me!!!
Here I AM on by back porch this morning getting all the summer sunbeams, until the storms roll in. There is a disturbance out in the Gulf of Mexico (soon to be the first early Hurricane of the season) causing lots and lots of moisture which will be heading north, which is our way. So we should have lots of rain this week. Course that makes Momma worry about the roof. The roofers are scheduled but it won't be until after the holiday next month. The roof was patched so we think we are OK. Momma you know how much we kitties hate to get wet!

Momma says she loves my 'eyeliner'. I don't have to do anything special. I think she's jealous because she has to use this special goop to get her eyes to look as good as mine, and purrsonally I don't think hers do!
Daddy has to go to a special Vet today and have a colonoscopy -- *ick*

Waiting For Christmas in July

Ok I don't get this. I got mail and Momma won't open it...it's from the wonderful kitties at Four Crazy Cats and it's our exchange purrsent for Christmas in July. Momma says I have to wait until July 1st to open it cuz that is when Christmas in July is and also something about it being my purrday...geesh what is it with this Momma purrson?

UPDATE
Momma lost her innernets and we have been sad because we could not blog or even let anyone know!
We just got back some innernets -- the wireless ones, but our wired compoodle has an ethernet connectivity problem. We don't understand -- and neither does Momma. But between da innernets problem -- we also got to get a noo literal roof ofur our heads.
*sigh*
It rains
and the roof leaks...
and dat terrible storm messed up our innernets!

Tuesday Thoughts With Miss Boo

There's always a challenge I've found with photographing black cats.

If you didn't look close you might miss the little white chin and whiskers. But, I love the darkness of her fur with the sun hitting her back against the backdrop of the greenery from outside.

Miss Boo is sitting next to her mischievous brother, Ping in this picture and she is warily watching him, because he loves to bedevil her. He reminds of that kid brother who would touch the sister in the back of the car and the Sister would cry out: "he touched me"!

On the other paw...
The past week or so we've had tremendously violent thunderstorms each and every afternoon. The temperatures have reached into the 100's which is a bit unusual for this time of the year. It's been reported locally the last time be had back to back 100+ degree days was in 2000. The high temperatures heat up the atmosphere and by late afternoon the thunderstorms arrive. We've had down drafts that have caused 60mph wind gusts which have toppled trees in some neighborhoods causing lots of damages. It's too early in the season for this. I worry about the tropical outlook for this season in the Atlantic basin, not to mention the worrisome Gulf. Violent weather seems to be breaking out all over this spring/summer.

UPDATE:
Momma's MRI came back with nothing on it.
I guess that means she doesn't have anything in her head.
I could've told them bean Vets that!
So that is good.
She was diagnosed with otoscolersis.
They said they could do surjury.
But, Momma said "NO"!
Which means she still can't hear.
I could've told them that too!
See they should listen to cats.
We know.
So, she guesses she'll hafta to get one hearing aids sooner or later,
but she needs eye glasses first cause she can't see either.
I knew that too.
Momma leave it to me, OK.
I'll get you all fixed up!

Thought On Thursday

Today my Mom has to go and have a M.R.I. (whatever that is) on her left ear. After many many years of bad hearing and ringing in her right ear she was diagnosed with major hearing loss (88%) and to rule out many things they are checking what's on the inside of her head. I am not sure they are going to find much up there...and you know what? I hope they don't find anything, so right now I'm gonna sit here in my sunbeam and purr for my Mom.

Happy Gotcha Day

Today is a special day.
5 years ago this special little ball of fluff was introduced into my life.
My life has not been the same.
The moment I laid eyes on her it was utter love.
Now for her part, I can only say it took more than one moment for that feeling to be reciprocated.
She made me earn her love and loyal. Yes sireebob, she did.
It was trial by fire and tooth.
Abby has been shuttled to at least 3 homes that I know of. But, I understand her allure. She is small and adorable.
But she is fiesty and has catitude.
If you do take her on her terms -- forgetaboutit!!!!
So, those who do not wish to accept her terms parted ways.
Thankfully.
Because June 12, 2005 brought her to me.
It was my lucky day.
It was her lucky day.
Although, she would have argued that point on that day, I think.
She has found her forever and ever home.
So today we celebrate 5 years together.
The best is yet to come.
Thank you Abby, Happy Homecoming, my sweet.

This is the little "cup" I keep by the sink in case Abby wants some "fresh" water from the tap. It is a 1/4 measuring cup, so that gives you an idea as to how small Abby truly is. She is a tiny kitty.
