Gifford

Gifford is my brothers pug. He is such a sweet gentle dog. He is not feeling well, and any healing purrs sent his way would be greatly appreciated.

Dad's Condo Designs

A few asked to see some of Dad's condo designs.
So here are a few of the ones he recently did.
In addition to making new condos by hand, he also repairs condos, so if a kitty has a favorite that needs sprucing up, he can do that too!

The only bad thing is hasn't figured out a way to do shipping, so he is tied to just doing it locally here in Northern Florida.

Pawsin

Earlier this week Daddy had a fall.
He fell down *boom* on the hard concrete driveway and hurt his right shoulder, elbow and wrist. So, he has not been feeling too good.
He couldn't stay all day with Lucky Cat Rescue, so we only know that three kitties got forever homes, but we are sure that there were more adoptions as he could only make it for 1/2 a day.
Daddy has been making cat condos and selling them locally.
He is going to be doing the Jacksonville Home and Patio Show with First Coast No More Homeless Pets and he is so excited. He is also going to be displaying his work at his first cat show next month at The World Golf Center in St Augustine,Florida.
Daddy is going to be furry busy!

The Climb

Sir Winston Churchill said, “Every day you make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet, there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will NEVER get to the end of the journey. But this, far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.”

Challenger

High Flight — John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there,
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air. . . .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Just Thinkin

The other day we posted our goodbyes to another long time furfriend, and we noticed that Miss Toni of the Cats of the Piney Woods mentioned that Mittens was losing her battle. We felt so sad and we just wanted to mention this to anyone who passes by to remember Miss Toni and Mittens. She doesn't post much, and her heart has been broken by the recent loss of Miss Patches , and now Mittens is nearing her final days with Miss Toni. Our deepest purrsssssssssssssss....

Totally Wordless

A Stylish Award

Our sweet friends Fuzzy and Zoe from OK Cats gave us this wonderful award! We were thoroughly delighted! Thank you for thinking we were "stylish" -- we were so flattered!

*******
Now here are the rules...
1) Link to the blog who gave you the award.
2) Tell seven things about yourself that the people might not know.
  • I sit and meow to Mom to come and put fresh water in my cup and make her hold the cup while I drink.
  • I will be 12 in July.
  • I am a treat-o-holic.
  • Whenever Mom pets me I purr like crazy for her.
  • I sit on the edge of the table and make Mom come over to pet me and then I will go and get a crunchie while she rubs my tail bone. (I won't eat if she doesn't rub)
  • I sleep on top of Mom.
  • I do not share Mom with any of the other cats, and that is why we have trouble. If any of them get to close to her, I chase them off, and even though I am the smallest cat in the house I rule with an iron paw.

3) We have to pass the award along to seven blogs we think are stylish. But we think that a lot of bloggers have already had this award, but if you have not please consider yourself 'stylin' and take this from us and tell us a few things we did not know!

Mancat Monday With Ping

Brian has suggested that today we bring attention to all our local shelters and how we can help.
All of us were unwanted kitties so we know the blessing that shelters and rescue groups are. We hope you will take a moment to think how best to help out any group in your area that could use a paw or two. The local animals will thank you!

Ping rockin it!
My oh my what a handsome face -- and he looks so angelic doesn't he?
NOT!
He is a sweet sweet boy, but oh my goodness he is a little devilish when he wants to be.

Put Away The Flashy Box

Please continue to purr for Miss Annie. She is still in the hospital. Her Mom, Kim could use a kind purr or two.

We had 3 adoptions yesterday with Lucky Cat!
Yay 3 more forever and ever homes!

Focus

What you take into your hands, you take into your heart...

It's a quote from the movie Witness. I heard it years ago and it stuck in my head.
It's the part where John Booker has grabbed a gun...(he is living amongst the Amish)
And an old Amish man is admonishing him for resorting to violence.
It struck me at the time. I thought it was bs.

But then I thought more about it, the more I realized that it is correct.
What we touch. What we think about. What we focus on.
We become.

If we are focused on only our own self interest..
We become self absorbed.
If we focus only on money.
We become greedy.
If we focus on food.
we get fat.
If we focus on the wrongs done us.
We get bitter.
If we focus on our own shortcomings..
and on how unfair things seem.
Or on other's success
We become jealous and bitter.
If we focus on what we lack.
We become stingy with our time, love and material possessions.

If we focus on self acceptance
we start accepting others.
If we focus on our own strengths
we see the strength in others.
If we focus on what we have...
We are thankful and able to give.
If we see our success through God's eyes.
We will be able to revel in the success of others.

Every day we wake up with a new opportunity to do things right.

Formerly Feral Friday With Grace

We are all still purring for dear Annie at Fuzzy Tales. She had to stay overnight at the animal hospital due to an infection that has been hard for her to get rid of. It has made her stop eating and drinking and feel really bad. We are praying that she improves and if you could all say a little prayer along with us we can all lift her up and help make her well. Kim, Annie's Mom is very worried, so please keep her close in your thoughts.
UPDATE: Annie has a diagnosis. She is constipated. The hospital is administering enemas and once she clears the harden mass out, she can go back home. WE are purring for your Miss Annie!

Gracie would like to share this video with you from
Best Friends..we hope you enjoy
and welcome to:

Trivial Thursday

I just love the shape from the back of a beautiful cat.
Abby looks like the figure "8" to me in this one.

****
Our friend Annie from Fuzzy Tales had to be admitted to the hospital yesterday.
She is battling and infection and it is causing her to stop eating and it seems she has had a reaction to the medication.
She needs all of our purrs.
Please keep Annie and her Mom, Kim in your hearts.
Stay a little purrayer, and if you have a moment, please stop in and give Kim a word of encouragement.

Operating A Treadmill

One of the things I promised myself was to get back into a regular exercise routine.
I had been really good up until mid-summer and I nearly stopped completely.
I felt terrible about it.
But...I didn't want to exercise.
The final week of December I told myself THAT is it.
I got back to doing my treadmill.
Abby decided to do the Treadmill with me.
As I was setting everything, she was on the platform sitting, watching me.
So, I slowly started the treadmill at .5mph.
At first she didn't know what to do, but then she started walking, but she noticed she wasn't going anywhere. So she walked a little faster, then she stopped and of course the treadmill took her on a little ride, but before she could fall off she started trotting again.
She did it 3 or 4 times.
Then she jumped off and watched me ramp it up.
My goal is 15-20 miles a week.
It's a very do"able" goal for me.
So far so good...and I feel so much better.

A Bunch of FANKS

A few weeks ago we pawticipated in a commentathon over at The White Dog Blog. Siku Marie was celebrating 2000 posts and wanted to paw it forward. WE were one of those selected for the give aways. Our wonderful goodies arrived yesterday. A terrific and beautiful book called CURIOUS CATS and a very nice light to help us see it! Also included were two nommy bags of Pet Greens. YOU know we will be enjoying all of those. Thank you so much Siku Marie you are a beautiful and generous woofie and we appreciate everything you did.

Bob

Yesterday Sparkle mentioned Bob the orange male tabby over at Covered in Cat Hair.
If you didn't get a chance to see Sparkle's post please take a moment and check in on Bob.
He is battling Lymphoma and his Mom Robin has been beset with many setbacks, but
it is not stopping her determination to do everything she can for Bob, including having a
CHIPIN for donations for his care which is mounting into the thousands. I know times are
hard for all of us but any little bit could help.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
