I Had To Go To The Vet
UPDATE:
Mom just got the call from the Vet's office.
They said all of my numbers are within normal.
Mom says she feels like she can breath again!
And she says my eye is so much better this morning after the antibiotics!
Have a great Friday everyone, we are!

Mom took me and put me in the PTU yesterday. I curled up and made myself super small but it didn't keep me out of being zipped up inside. I cried but that didn't make any difference either. She put me in the metal machine and we took off. Once we started going she zipped open the top and I looked out and was OK. It is a long ride to the Vet's from our house but at least Mom made it so we weren't in heavy traffic. See that gunk in my eye? Well for a little while now Mom has seen it and was watching over me, but yesterday, I would only open my eye about half way, so she said that's it, and she made the appointment. Luckily when we got there they took us right in and stole my pee and my bloods (Mom brought them my poo sample herself -- I wondered what she was doing with that!). But the tech said I was a good girl that she didn't shave my neck because I didn't move. NO joke Sherlock, would you move if someone shoved a needle in your neck? The Vet looked at me and said I have small cataracts in each eye, but she said it is age related and she wasn't worried, they gave Mom some junk to put into my eyes and Mom is sure that will clear up my eye gunk, the Vet wasn't worried about that. My poo sample came back negative and now we are all waiting on the blood results. Mom worries but I'm sure it'll be OK. But she knows I am 12 so it just worries her a bit more than it used to. But I hope my Vet experience is over for another year.
purrs,
Happy Birthday To Me
Many many many years ago I was a shutterbug. I still have all of my old camera equipment. Photography has always been something I loved, but along the way it was laid aside, I really don't know why.
When all the kitties came into our lives my love of photography returned, but lo and behold times had changed. Digital cameras and pictures were the thing. I didn't know much about digital photography or photo editing. (Still learning about the editing part)
So along the way I purchased some point and shoot cameras and they do give nice pictures. But I yearned for something more. I did get a Canon but I never really warmed to it. Well after trying out a Fuji DSLR and really being dissatisfied my husband said if you really want to take good photos you need a good camera. I've always wanted a Nikon. Even back in the old days I longed for a Nikon. IT was "the" camera in those days. Nowadays you can choose from among many good brands, and Nikon is just one of them. I didn't go for the pro camera, but the D3100 should really do the trick for me. It feels really nice in the hand and just the way it shoots is so rewarding, I don't know how to describe it but I think I'm finally going to be able to satisfied my reemerged old shutterbug. Even though it's a tad early my husband went ahead and gave me this for my birthday. I think I will have it for a long long time. Please feel free to let me know what kind of camera you use and how you like it.

A Tail(less) Or Two
Our friend Alex over at Feeling Beach, recently had to have his tail removed. He looks so cute being turned into a tailess kitty. Well Alex's Mom said yesterday was the first time she had really seen my tailessness so I thought I would share some pictures of me takes over the years that show off my cute little tushie. I have a rounded shape which is a typical one for manxies. I am what is called a rumpie manx, I have no tail at all, if you put your finger at the base of where a normal cat's tail would be you would feel a hollowed out area on my nub. The fur around the area where a tail would be, fluffs up and makes me look like I have a bit of a tail, but I don't. That is all fur. I am not fond of my fur 'tail' being touched. Some manxies have troubles with the ability to use the bathroom, and although Mom says I don't have those problems she can see how valuable that tail is for cats, it really helps them go. So let me know what you think of my tailessness!
The END.
