My Daddy has to have an opurration on Thursday please keep him in your purrayers. We may be away for a little while after Thursday so we can purr and take care of our Daddy.

The Little Bed

Boo: Ummmm what's this? It's empty. This would make a nice place to nap.
Ahhh yes this is wonderful! ohmigoodness what's that?

Abby: Who's that sleeping in my bed?

Abby: What is going on here?

Abby: Boo don't you know this is my bed?

Abby...how do I get her out of my bed?

I'll have to think about this....

Well I don't seem to having much luck, so let me go find another of my nests to crawl up into.

One Of My Favorite Things

This is one of Boo's favorite spots in the house. The window panes in the french doors are in just the perfect location for her to sit comfortably and look out and watch the lizards, birds and squirrels out of the den.
When she sees any critter outside on the walkway or in the back yard she will sit up on her back two paws and use her front paws and begin stroking the window pane, like she is cleaning it. OF course she is saying:

"let me outta here so I can go eat...errr...play with that critter!"

She also benefits from it being a great place for sunbathing in the afternoon glow of the sun; just like she is doing in this picture. Doesn't she just look divine?

Tuxie Woes....

Yesterday afternoon, Abby, Boo and Jinx were all in the hallway together. Abby and Boo had just been together in the bedroom where Abby had fussed at Boo. Abby has a habit of getting right up in Boo's face and MEOWING loudly at her. Back in the hallway, all of a sudden out of nowhere Boo rises up like a stallion and gives Abby a double one two *thack* with claws unsheathed. Abby had NO idea this was about to happen and neither did I, it took place in a mere 2 seconds. She was stunned and she started acting funny. I followed her as she headed out of the hallway and into the kitchen. When she jumped up on the counter I could see she was favoring her eye. She was blinking and trying to keep it closed. It was a quarter to six and I thought well let me call my Vet. They said they consider anything with the eye to be an emergency and not to wait until the next day, to take her to an emergency clinic. So, off we go on what is a 45 minute ride to the clinic. There was hardly anyone besides us there and we had to wait nearly 2 hours before we could see the Vet. It was frustrating to have to wait especially since Abby is very fearful and she was hurting. I felt so bad for her. They did stain her eye and it is scratched. The Vet did say it was a superficial scratch and will probably heal in 24 hours. She gave me some antibiotic ointment to treat her with. This morning she is keeping her eye nearly shut. I managed to get some ointment in her eye this morning, but she was so upset with me that she hid for awhile. Abby is not a good patient. But she did come out and she did give me her kitty kisses, so I guess she understands I am not trying to hurt her. She is definitely feeling some discomfort and she wasn't her normal perky self. But she ate well, and I think just keeping quiet today will be good for her. I think I am more of a wreck than she is. Unfortunately the clinic said to take her to her normal Vet in 48 hours. So I am sure Abby isn't going to happy about that....

We want to thank Lemieux and Fiona and Cheysuli was nominating Abby for the Rocking Girl award! She's not rocking too good today, but give her a few more days and she'll be back to her usual happy self. We'd like to nominate a few of other rocking ladies....

Ping: CAT Secret #1

Climb all over your food giver until you get them up out of their warm sleeping spot so that they will feed you. After you have eaten and YOU are satisfied find a nice place to nap. Just because they can't sleep doesn't mean you shouldn't.

On a side note, I just learned this morning that a dear man I have worked with for 21 years passed away July 5th. He lost his battle to cancer after a 3 year war. He was one of the nicest people you could ever have met, and even in his illness he still managed to remain optimistic and cheerful. I'll miss you Hutch. Rest well my friend.

Sweet Baby Girl

Abby: This is my purrmonth. A lady never divulges her exact age and I'm no exception. But Momma says I have just become what 'experts' say is a senior kitty. Oh will Sammy still want me now? He is such a young virile handsome mancat, I hope he doesn't mind. Isn't this the new age where bean years are judged as 40 being the new 30 and so on? Why not the same for kitties? I don't look a whisker over 4! I hope Sammy still finds me attractive. Since I am not telling Momma when the exact day of my first purr, she said we would celebrate all month! Isn't that great? I'll be able to celebrate with all the other July babies!



So happy PURRDAY to ALL of us born in the month of July! We have lots to celebrate!
